  1. I love Sue, Sue knows I love her, so there's that. She was, at the time of this album, simply trying to figure out where her path was taking her, like many singers were doing back then. She'd begun strongly at Capitol, but I gather those albums didn't do well and so that ended, and then this at Libertyl and Happiness is a Warm Sue Raney at /5(5).

  2. This album is a welcome rerelease, if something of a mixed bag. Released mid '60's as an attempt to capture a more pop audience for Sue, it has some curious inclusions like "Georgy Girl," "Love Me Tender," "Yesterday," & "Groovin,' as well as her semi-'hit,' "I've stayed Too Long at the Fair" (lovely version-- I prefer to Streisand by a lot)/5(5).

  3. The album contains (primarily) haunting, and achingly beautiful, ballads. The duets with Goldstein are surely to be compared with the classic Evans/Hall pairings. But unlike the equal roles Evans/Hall play with each other, this is Martino's show, with Goldstein playing a supportive role, using his keyboards for texture and color/5(12).

  5. Gene and Sonny treat the song right for to kick off "We'll Be Together Again." Another of my all-time faves, "But Not For Me" is next. Other standards include "My Foolish Heart" and "Autumn Leaves." While the album is mostly uptempo, the few ballads are lovely, too.5/5(6).
